Ernie Amey

Ernie Amey was the last of the door-to-door collectors for union subscriptions. He travelled thousands of miles over his 58-year tenure as multiple branch secretary for the National Union of Agricultural and Allied Workers and the Agricultural Section of the Transport and General Workers Union.

He devoted his life to improving the lot of farm labourers, especially in Dorset. He was dubbed the £1million Man after his success in getting compensation awards for members.

The 103 page illustrated book has been written and published by Brian Moore.
