Shop : Special Gifts & Donations : Tolpuddle Tree Engraved Wooden Keyring

When the National Trust coppiced the great Tolpuddle Martyrs' sycamore tree recently we got some of the wood. The Museum has commissioned craftsman Sean Carter of Aberfanturning to produce a limited number of handmade items made from this special timber. The 330-year-old Martyrs' Tree, believed to be the oldest Sycamore in Britain and maybe the world, is only coppiced like this four  or five times every 100 years. This was a rare opportunity to make beutiful things from this important tree. These are wonderful and meaningful items to use or would make a perfect gift.
