Martyrs’ Tree Rollerball Pen & Engraved Wooden Box (Silver)
When the National Trust pollarded the great Tolpuddle Martyrs’ sycamore tree recently we got some of the wood. The Museum has commissioned craftsman Sean Carter of Aberfanturning to produce a limited number of beautiful pens and wooden presentation boxes both made from this special timber. The 330-year-old Martyrs’ Tree, believed to be the oldest Sycamore in Britain and maybe the world, is only coppiced like this four or five times every 100 years. This was a rare opportunity to make something beutiful from this important tree. These are wonderful and meaningful pens to use or would make a perfect presentation item or gift.
The rollerball pen and engraved presentation box are made from the Tolpuddle wood. It takes a Parker-type ball-point refill (spare included). these are individually handmade itens, so there will be some variation from pen to pen. No two are identical.
