Oscar Wilde Christmas Card

£1.50

Oscar Wilde wrote these words in a letter to his lover, the art critic and journalist Robert Ross, in 1897 whilst waiting nervously for his poem, The Ballad of Reading Gaol, to be published. He was a broken man after his incarceration in Reading, UK, for “gross indecency”, and now an exile in France. But don’t let that spoil your Christmas. Oscar might not have wanted to be a Christmas present, but we are always glad to hear from him at any time of the year. Let Oscar’s dry wit help you wish your friends ‘Season’s Greetings’
