The Kids Area at the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival is a welcoming, creative, and safe environment for children and families. The kid’s area is created and brought to life by an amazing team of artists, performers, workshop facilitators, and dedicated volunteers. Together they create a space where children and families can play, make, learn, and have fun.
Storytelling
Sarah Mooney, Bard of Glastonbury, brings myths, magic and mischief to life. Expect ancient tales full of fire and fun — stories that will stay with your children long after the festival is over.

Arts and Crafts
Pop in and get creative with the Woodcraft Folk, who offer an amazing range of drop in arts and crafts suitable for all ages and abilities.
The Swap Shop
Discover a treasure trove of second-hand clothes, toys and bric-a-brac. Bring something to swap and head home with a new-to-you find — or pay the hippo and snap up a bargain!
Big Gobs Puppets
Make your own BIG GOB puppet with artist Jonny Nicholds, then use it to shout your message and stand up for what matters!
Drum Circle
Peta’s Samba drum circles bring Brazilian rhythm to the Kid’s – feel the beat and make some noise!
Make Your Own Pizza
Kids hungry? Always! Head to the Kids Area’s Pizza Barn and let them create their own delicious pizza. Suggested donation: £6.
Leaf Printing
Create beautiful pictures and patterns by gently hammering pigment out of leaves and flowers.
Clowning Around
Wolly the Clown’s show will amaze and have audiences in stitches with daring, daft and laugh-out-loud stunts.
After the show, join Wolly for a circus skills workshop and try your hand at some circus tricks!
Help-Yourself Painting
An early-morning, self-led painting activity offers early risers and their parents something calm and creative to do away from the camping area, providing a gentle start to the day.
Kids Area Before and After Hours
Outside of the main programmed activities, the Kids Area provides a supportive and welcoming space both before and after hours.
From 8:00am, the area opens especially for parents and carers with babies and young children who are early risers. This gentle start to the day offers a cup of tea, a calm place to sit, and an understanding environment where it doesn’t matter if little ones are noisy.
In the evenings, the Kids Area transforms into a relaxed social space, with a campfire welcoming anyone who wishes to sit, unwind, and connect with other festival-goers.
All the activities are free unless otherwise stated.
